Cyber Check-ins ✅

At the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (Aus3C), we encourage each other to have regular check-ins on the state of our cyber resilience. If you've recently learned about MFA or passphrase from our content, we are pleased to have taught you these important practices. However, if you are well versed in these steps, remember to go back through your accounts and upgrade any not-so-good passwords or skipped MFA setups that you might have let slip through in a rush. These things can drive us crazy some days but it's absolutely vital that we maintain our defenses online.

Part of our check-ins is taking stock of what might have been released in previous breaches. Do you know how much of your identity can be pieced together? ABC News Story Lab has shared a remarkable tool that compiles and reveals your data that has been leaked in various data breaches over time and shows how much of your identity can be pieced together. The tool utilises Troy Hunt's 'Have I been Pwned?' database and provides a visual picture of how much of your data has been leaked over time.

Head over and try putting in your email to see what it reveals. Don't dwell on the result, knowledge is power. Once you know what accounts might have led to an exposure, search for more information on the company's response to the leak and action their advice on what you should do i.e. change your password.
