Staying informed and ahead of the game is half the battle in this realm. The Australian Cyber Security Centre has an alert service that can help us.

"This is a free service for Australian internet users providing information on recent online threats and how they can be managed. The Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD's ACSC) Alert Service provides easy-to-understand online security information and solutions to help protect internet users at home, at work and on mobile devices. The ASD's ACSC Alert Service also informs users about the latest threats and vulnerabilities within an Australian context, and how to address risks to their devices or computer networks."

You can register for alerts and view current updates on the ACSC's website, or by keeping an eye on their facebook alert page.

It's also important that we report cases of cybercrime. If you have been scammed you can place a report on the ACSC website.
